How do I increase the number of recently used files that show in .

Trying to increase the number of recently used files that show under the file
menu in word. Help says to go to tools, general and it can be done there. We
tried increasing from the default of 4, and it doesn't work.

You went to the right place. Did you try to set it to more than 9? That is
the maximum it will accept.

Also, make sure to click the OK button at the bottom of the dialog box once
you make the change. The "X" button in the upper left corner cancels your
changes.
