How do i import office 2003 contacts to Office XP Professional?

My old place of employment had Office 2003, my new place of employment uses
Office XP Professional - on trying to import my contacts it comes up with an
error message saying that the .pst file that i am trying to import is not
compatible with this version of the personal folders information service -
any ideas on how i can get around this one????

You can't.
You must create a PST file in the old format while still in Outlook 2003.
Exporting and importing will not do that.
