How do I hide bookmarks permanently

HELP! I want to hide the bookmarks, but I don't want to have to go into
tools every time I enter my template -- how do I hide them permanently?
 
If you are clearing the "Bookmarks" check box on the View tab of Tools |
Options and your setting is not being saved, chances are you need to rebuild
your Word Data key in the Registry. See
