On one of my computers when I pass the mouse over a hyperlink in an incoming
message (Outlook 2002), the address behind it shows up on the bottom of my
screen. On my laptop that's not the case. Where do I set what?

Thanks,

what version is on the laptop? whether you see the url when you hover a link
depends on the version.

OL2002 does *not* show the URL path in its status bar when hovering the
mouse cursor over a link. IE does that, not Outlook. In an HTML-formatted
e-mail, the only way to see the true URL path in Outlook's Preview mode or
when opening the mail item in its own window (in Outlook) is to right-click
and View Source to see the href value in the <A> tag.

I can see the real & full URL when I mouse-over in an Outlook 2003 message.

Reread the original post. Which version was mentioned? It was *not* 2003.
