I have a Hewlett Packard computer. I got fed up with the hp version of
Windows XP Home because of all the junk included with it.I bought the
Microsoft XP Home program. Two months ago I reformatted the computer, and
installed it. Everything worked fine-audio, etc. No conflicts, and the
drivers were fine. this morning I had trouble with the hard drive, which I
have overcome. My problem is that the HP invent screen from Hewlett Packard
comes on and freezes the boot up until I hit escape. After hitting escape ,
the Microsoft screen comes up and everything runs fine. How do I get rid of
the Hp screen? How do I get the computer to go straight into the Microsoft
XP Home screen on boot up?
Thanks

Hello
Since nobody else tried to help you on this I will try a couple of suggestions. I am not sure this will help. First the HP may have Proprietory hardware like my other older Dell PC that might not let you change that. I know this since I tried upgrading the older pc and round up building a whole new pc. The power supply didn't work with the new mother board and the case attachments didn't fit as well. It was easier to just build a new one. The only way that I know of to try to change that HP invent would either be in the bios or a different motherboard. I admit there may be another way that I don't know. And again because of proprietory issues changing the mother board may be to much of a hassle. If someone else on this site helps, they may have more info. You might also call HP and see what they would say. Hope this helps.

Thanks
