How do I get spacing to be single spaced on new emails not double?

I wanted to change the fonts in my emails and did so under options>mail
format>fonts and now my new emails are double spaced. I can not figure out
how to get the default spacing for the new emails back to single spaced.

When I search on the web for help I find the answer to changing the font in
a message after you compose it but I need to know how to get the dafault for
new messages to be single spaced.
 
are you using HTML formatting? Are they single spaced when you compose but
double spaced when viewed in web mail accounts?
 
I am having the same issue. It happens both when composing and one the
message is send. I changed the font and now when I hit enter after a line of
text it is appearing to be double spaced. Please help
