I have a title / slide master pair set up in an existing presentation. When i
paste in slides from another presentation it pastes them in using the TITLE
master features.

How do I paste in slides and get them to inherit the properties of the slide
master?

This is possible if using PPT 2002/2003. When pasting in you will see a
small icon box appear on the thumbnail of the slide, click the icon and from
the drop down menu choose 'keep source formatting.'

I've tried this but it doesn't solve my problem as this brings in the source
formatting issues that I have with the presentation I am pasting from.

In more detail:

I have a presentation where the title and slide masters are reversed -- When
I click insert new slide it inserts a blank title slide not a regular slide.
As a solution to this I was going to paste all the slides into a presenation
with the correct formatting. When trying this it inserts them all onto title
slides. When I select "keep source formatting" after pasting all the slides
look fine, but then when I click insert new slide it is still bringing in a
title slide.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Your original file sounds very odd.

After you insert the slides into the new file, try reapplying/applying the
bulleted slide layout to the slides in question. Hopefully that will sort it
out.
