Ok, heres where things stand, I have windows 98 on a
computer, and I was attempting to upgrade it to windows
XP, well do to one bug or another, it decided it didnt
want to complete the installation. I got to a point where
I had to restart the computer, and then after I did that,
I got an error message. Anyway, thats all in the past, I
dont mind that, I will just stick with Windows 98 on that
computer, because honestly Im not planning on keeping it
too much longer. My main problem is, now, everytime I
restart the computer, it asks me whether I want to launch
Microsoft Windows (Which launches Windows 98 the old way,
which is fine) or if I want to launch Microsoft Windows
XP setup (which takes me back to that horrible blue
screen of error messages) The problem is, The XP setup is
the default choice, and it only gives me 5 seconds to
choose, so if Im not quick on the trigger, I get the
broken XP setup, and have to restart again. I was just
wondering, how can I remove that Windows XP setup option
altogether. Is there some nice easy way to make my
computer forget I ever tried to install Windows XP?
Thanks for the help.

Boot with a Windows 98 start up disk, and at the prompt type SYS C: and
press the Enter key. If you tried to install XP to a different partition or
drive than 98, format that partition of drive. If not, delete the folder
containing Windows XP (probably called WINNT). In the C: drive, delete the
files pagefile.sys, boot.ini, and any files beginning with nt.
