How do I get rid of the 'Microsft LDAP Directory" query at start?

Every time I start Outlook 2003 it asks me for the location of the Microsoft
LDAP Directory. I use Outlook only for internet email -- nothing fancy or
complicated -- and would like to get rid of the question, by telling Outlook
that I don't need to do that. I was alot easier to do that in Outlook 2000!
Do I have to reinstall, or is there a simpler way?

You are correct - I upgraded my old Outlook 2000. I followed the steps in KB
287563, read the menus more carefully, deleted my LDAP and solved the problem
-- thank you! Why don't they add "LDAP" to the help file?

You must have done an in place upgrade instead of a clean install. You must
remove the LDAP service and replace it with the Outlook Address Book.

Because Help files are not very comprehensive and LDAP configuration is not
something end users ever have to concern themselves with. The only reason
you did is a bug (one of many) in the upgrade routine from the dreaded IMO
version of Outlook 2000, which thankfully is nearly dead and gone now. IMO
used the Windows Address Book not the Outlook Address Book, so an upgrade
removes the WAB and simply installs the next address book engine in line,
which is the LDAP. It should install the Outlook Address Book instead.
