How do I get rid of the label that says "field code changed"?

When we switched to Word 2003, all of a sudden this label pops up that says,
"field code changed". The only way I've found to get rid of it is to get rid
of the picture that it's attached to. It's really messing me up.

Under what kinds of circumstances does the message appear. Is this a message
box, with a button you have to click, or something else? Are you certain this is
the EXACT message you're seeing?

...Because I've certainly never seen it before. This sounds almost like some
third-party software is monitoring whether a document has changed...
