How do I get my dvd player to work again?

I had to format my main hard drive as it was full of viruses. But since I put
everything back on it I can`t use my DVD player. I have an installation cd
but I think I might need a code or something. If so, can I get the code from
anywhere or am I stuck with having to buy a new one?

If it makes a difference it is a Cyberlink Power DVD 3.0

Install the software that came with your DVD drive. As XP has no DVD burn
capability, if you ever were able to burn one, you did the task with that
software.
