How do I get children displayed by age, in contacts?

I have the children listed under the children tab but they are showing up
alphabetically instead of by age.

This is a true statement. You cannot change the order. Add a number to the
front, like

1 Oldest child's name
2 Middle child's name
3 Youngest child's name
