How do I get Autonumber to work in an Access table?

I am new to Access and am designing my tables. How do I get the automatic
numbering to work when entering details? Thanks for any help.

Access Autonumber datatype is available when you are in design mode for your
table. There can only be one Autonumber field per table, whether that table
holds the "one" side data or the "many" (detail) side rows.

You don't have to do anything to make Autonumber work, besides setting it as
a data type.
