After the last Office updates my queries that create tables lose their
formats in the new table. This query has worked since 1998 and I haven't
made an changes. I set the format of the date field to mmm but instead of
creating a field with the results <sep> or <jun> I get a format of <10/04/04
4> Any suggestions?

Please post the SQL of the query.

A MakeTable query will store either a Date/Time value - a double float
count of days since midnight, December 30, 1899 - or a text string in
the made table. AFAIK you cannot set the format property of a field in
a MakeTable query.

Thanks for the input. The macro I am running was developed for Office 97 and
it did set the format in the new table and again in Office XP. This problem
has just occurred this month, after the latest updates were run.

I cannot possibly help you unless you provide some assistance. I
cannot see your database. You can.

Could you (as requested) post the SQL of the MakeTable query, and
(now) the steps of the macro?
