How do I find clearing items in a column in Excel?

I have a column of values. Each month some items clear eachother. For
example: there may be a positive $1,000 entry and two entries that are meant
to clear the $1000 like ($400) and a ($600). However, this is an extremely
easy example. Is there any sort of function I could use that searches a
column for entries that sum eachother to "0" like the example above???
Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions or ideas. Thanks

are there any other info in adjacent column like invoice# etc. are the
clearing values $400 and $600 negative amounts or positive?
