How do I file sent e-mail into personal folders.

Instead of dragging and dropping the sent messages from the "sent messages"
folder to the individual personal folders, is there a way to designate the
personal folder it should go to at the same time the message is mailed?

Sure. Before sending, click View>Options. There's a field that allows you
to specify the saving folder.
