how do I email a scanned document using hotmail and Outlook

We have a dell computer and printer. I can scan a document and it wants to
use Outlook Express to email the document but I cannot figure out how to set
up Outlook to use my hotmail account. I am using the Dell All In One Center
to scan the document. Can anyone help?

Usually something in the scanner software. I had an old HP ScanJet 6300
which would only want to scan through MSOE, no matter what my actual default
client was. Using the send button on the scanner. Never figured out how to
customize that before the scanner went belly up.

Which e-mail client is currently configured to be the default one?

On your desktop, create a shortcut to "mailto:" (sans quotes). Then
double-click on it. Which e-mail client opens (use the Help menu to
find out)?
