How do I edit an existing index in a corrected manuscript?

I am editiing a manuscript has each chapter done individually. When I made
corrections/changes within the chapters, the index entries did not change with
the page numbers. How do get the index to correspond to the new page numbers?
 
If you have an automatically generated index, click on it and press the F9
key.
