I am trying to set a Word document as uneditable. One way of doing this is to
convert the document to a PDF file. Is there any way I can achieve this using
Word ?

Depending on your version (where it's located is slightly different) when you
save the file you can password protect it against changes. In XP (Word 2002)
choose SAVE AS and then in the TOOLS menu of the dialog box choose SECURITY
OPTIONS. In older versions there was a separate OPTIONS button on the SAVE
AS dialog box.

Hope this helps.

But this will not stop someone saving the edited file with a new name. It
only protects the original. Ultimately *any* document that can be seen can
be copied.
