How do I remove this annoying windows feature: When pressing control-Left
click to select a group of files, windows starts to duplicate this files in
the same folder.

The problem is probably, you are moving the mouse still when clicking on the
next icon. I had this problem in the past. When clicking on the next file u
hold the click too long while moving the mouse still and it assumes you want
to make copies of the files. The fix is a steady hand nothing more nothing
less. Good Luck,

This is caused by not having a steady hand.

By moving one's hand slightly which also moves the mouse and all the files that are selected, Windows interprets this as dragging which copies the files. Done this plenty of times myself. ;-)

I noticed you make 2 posts and found this one is more popular.
To cure your problem I would suggest using Single click of mouse:

Open Control Plane > Folder Options > put 2 ticks for Single-click and
Underlined icon titles only when I point at them > Apply > OK to finish it.

Now, you can forget your old Double-click and to make selection is just
to point with your mouse pointer. This is very fast -- man! Drag & Drop
is the same and also for the Right clicks.

Ready to test? OK, move with your mouse pointer to your first item (files
or pictures) it should highlighted (immediately) dark for files and pictures
(dark border frame in Thumbnails view), now, press Shift key and move
your mouse pointer to the last files you wish to Move or Copy -- all without
pressing any mouse button.

I would NOT use Drag BUT uses Ctrl+C keys (for Copy) and Ctrl+V keys
(for Paste) to a new selected folder or place of choice.

With more practices it'll make perfect.

That's strange, I've never had that happen before. Make sure you
aren't dragging. Use quick clicks and try not to move the mouse at
all. If you hold Control and drag a file, it does copy.

Good luck.

I knew you would ask -- suppose there are one or two files you would
like to take out from the group -- and you would press down Ctrl key and
click those files to take out.

It is understood that when I said click is to uses Left mouse button only
and unless It is clearly said to uses Right button.

It is nice if you could response and tell us how you're doing.
