I am trying to determine if I have 32 bit or 64 bit
Windows XP. How do I determine which I have?

Thanks,

Kelly

Unless you have a computer with the 64bit Itanium chip in
it (you would probably spend about $5000 for such a
system), you more than likely have 32bit(almost everyone
does)

Hi Kelly,

You have the 32 bit version. To verify this, right-click on "My Computer" and select 'Properties' from the context menu. If you don't see 64 bit then you don't have it (very few people have the 64 bit version).

If you have XP Home edition then you definitely have 32-bit, as it's only
available as 32-bit.

If you have XP Professional edition, then if you need to ask the question,
you've got 32-bit. The reason for this is that the 64-bit version will only
run on a very limitied set of high-end, very expensive processors. Any
standard Pentium, Athlon etc. is 32-bit.

Go to Control Panel > System>"General" Tab.

You will find the Windows version there, and unless it specifically states
64-bit, you have 32-bit.

Hope this Helps,
