How do I delete e-mail address that appear in the "to" field

Our company recently changed all of our e-mail extentions. Now, I have
unusable email addresses that attempt to auto-populate the Send TO field.
For some indidivuals, I have 3-4 addresses to sift through. I have deleted
them from 'Contacts', but Outlook still draws them up as an option. This
also happens with addresses that contain mistakes or mis-spellings.

I can not figure out how to delete these addresses.

HELP!

When the drop down appears in the sendto box use the keyboard down arrow to
select the offending name and press DEL. repeat for each offending entry.
