I need to create a template that i can tab through and fill the either blanks
or the [YOUR TEXT GOES HERE] spaces and not to change the formating of the
text by inputing text into it. This is a "Rate Confirmation" template
where i need to be able to just open a new one and tab through with new input
to change it to fill it out. THank you...

Sounds like you want to create a form. Use the forms toolbar and protect your
form and you should have the document that you describe. I hope this has been
helpful to you.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/UsingMacroButton.htm for an
explanation of how to create the fields you're describing (but you'll need
F11 to jump from one to another). For information on protected forms, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles.

Hope this helps,
