How do I create intra-folder hyperlinks?

I've got 16 PPT files in one folder hyperlinked in Contents, Chapter,
Paragraph format. They use file-name-only hyperlinks that were created with
Windows ME & PPT 2000. I want the hyperlinks to contain only the file name,
and not the complete path name so that I can share the folder with other
users. My new Windows XP & PPT 2003 seems to create hyperlinks with
complete path names which means new hyperlinks won't be portable to other
peoples machines. How do I create file-name-only hyperlinks, or what else
can I do?

If all of the files were in the same folder when the links were created, you can
ignore what is displayed when you create the links. After the file is saved,
closed and reopened, you should see that the path has been dropped and you do
not see ..\ in front of the presentation name.

This did not work for me. All the files are in the same folder. I created the
link then saved, closed and reopened. The original path remains. When I copy
the folder to another location, the link is not found.
