How do I create an 8x8 calendar using an existing Microsoft template? I am
trying to print the basic calendar on my 8x8 cardstock, but I cannot figure
out how to reduce the entire document.

Chandra, this seems like a lot of work, but it can be done. It involves
changing the table properties column width to 0.97" for each day in the
monthly calendar, because each month is considered a separate table. You
also have to set up a custom page size of 8x8 for the whole document, and
change the width of the outside border of the calendar (which is an
AutoShape) to something like 7.05".

Let's start with a 2 two-month calendar (i.e. Nov. 2004 - Dec. 2004).

Using Word 2000, go to:

File / New / Other Documents / Calendar Wizard / Create new document
Go through the wizard to create a two-month calendar.

Click anywhere inside the first month of the calendar.

Go to Table / Properties.
From the COLUMN tab, start with column 1 and set the preferred width to
something like 0.97". Go through all 7 columns (days) to verify that they
are also set to 0.97". Click OK to exit the Table Properties.

Drag the year "2004" box to the left so that it is back inside the
reduced-size calendar month.

Right-click the outside border surrounding the calendar month and Format
AutoShape. Click the SIZE tab to set the width to something like 7.05".

Go through this process for each calendar month, which are separate tables.

The final step is to set the custom page size of the entire document to 8x8.

File / Page Setup / Paper Size / set width & height to 8" each.

There has to be a much more efficient way of doing this,
especially if you are trying to create a 12-month calendar.

I am sure that the EXPERTS will respond with some shortcuts. <g>

Take care,
Willie ...
