I need to convert my Powerpoint file into a WMA file so it can be played on a
media player.

I'm confused about your question. WMA means Windows Media Audio. Do you want
to convert your presentation to a Windows Media Video (WMV)file?

PowePoint to DVD-quality video, PowerPoint to web

There used to be one around that would convert to an ASF file. the only thing
about that one was that you lost your transitions. If you do a Google search
using "Convert PowerPoint" WMA, you will get a number of hits.

You can use Windows Movie Maker to create a WMV file. (WMA is an audio
file.) You'll need to do a File/Save As and save your slides as images and
then import those images into Movie Maker.

(Have I mentioned lately how much I think the search sucks on Microsoft.com?
You'd *think* if you type Movie Maker in the search box on the downloads
page, you just *might* get a result for an actual download of Windows Movie
Maker. But nooooooo, you get a bunch of Movie Maker Fun Packs instead. Those
might actually be fun if I could actually *find* Movie Maker in the first
place. Grrrrrr.)

sent me this link the last time I complained about not being able to find
Movie Maker on the MS site. Luckily I have it stashed away because as you
can see above, I *still* can't find Movie Maker from the main MS pages.

If your presentation has animations, though, you probably won't be happy
with the results Movie Maker gives. You can try
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00156.htm in that case.

Ahem. Google: Movie Maker

Guess what's at the top of the list.

And MS thinks it's gonna eat Google's lunch? At this rate, they're lucky if
the maitre'd lets them pick up cigar butts off the sidewalk outside the
restaurant.

See if PowerPoint2DVD will help you. It supports MP3, WAV, WMA format
audio files, MPEG video files, etc. Just have a try and good luck!
