My consulting company has an exchange server for our email which currently I can only access thru the web browser mail server option. The have turned off POP and SMTP to the server because of viruses and their policy. Whenever working within the home offices I can connect to the Exchange server thru Outlook just fine because I'm within their domain, however when I'm at the client site (99% of the time) I cannot connect thru outlook no matter what I try. I don't know what ports, or security, or domain settings would be necessary to connect from the client site, or if it is even possible. Anyway, I would like to be able to connect to the Exchange server using Outlook from the client site. If this is possible please help

You would need to speak to your Exchange Administrator. This needs to be set
up on their end.

What would I need to ask them to set up so that I can do this? Do they need to allow remote access or allow my username access

I am not an exchange server guru, but I do know enough to be dangerous... what should I tell them that I need?

They should know (at least I hope they do). There are several ways to do
this, and they need to figure out what is best for their network, business,
and users.

Enabling/configuring RPC over HTTP is an option.

Setting up and administering a VPN is also an option.

Setting up a direct dial-in solution to the network is also an option.

.... among other things.
