how do I change the size of the new message window

Outlook 2003 with all updates. Normally the new message window (to write a
message) is a rectangular box in the middle of the screen that fills about
1/2 of the screen real estate. Of late, when I click new message I get a full
screen window. I can shrink it to the right size by clicking, but I would
like it to be the right size by default. Any assistance would be appreciated.
This quest has turned into an obsession.
With thanks,
Bob

Resize and position the window as you want it. Hold down the Ctrl key while
you choose File + Close. This should save the window position and
proportions.

Use the X in the upper right hand corner instead when holding the shift key.

Milly:
Your suggestion works for the current outlook session. However when I close
Outlook and reopen I am back to full screen mode. Any other thoughts would be
greatly appreciated.
