How do I change the 'CRC' of an .iso file?

I have a DVD image file that isn't being recognised correctly by daemon
tools. I have been told that 'The CRC for the image file should be
xxxxxxx'....

How do I go about changing the CRC?

Any help will be appreciated..

Liam :)

Thanks for your quick replies guys, I might need to elaborate a little. I
have received a game download that was sent in a RAR file. Included in the
RAR file was a message saying that the CRC for the image file should be (etc).

The .iso file allowed me to install the software but then is not being
recognised by daemon tools as the 'correct disk' when trying to run the
software. Is this to do with the CRC mentioned above? If there was a way of
changing the CRC to the value mentioned, will this mean that the .iso file
will then be recognised or have I got this completely wrong?

Cheers... Liam :)

The CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) is a number that
is calculated by using a certain algorithm. If the CRC is
not what is expected then you have a corrupt file. It's
like saying "I am faxing you a list of our staff. The number
of staff is divisible by 11". If the list you receive has 90 entries
then you know that the fax machine failed to transmit the
lot. It's not a question of adjusting the number 11 - the
transmission failed somewhere!

Get a new copy of the CD.

Yes David, it is... It's allowing me to install but then doesn't recognise
when the game is launched.

That's copy protection. CD Disks are corrupted delibrately. The specific corruption is really the key. You can't copy corruption.
