How do I change my default document program?

When I try to open an emailed document, Vista uses Wordpad as the default.
How can I change this to MS Word 2003, which I have installed?
 
What happens when you try to open a saved .doc file?
If it doesn't open in Word, right-click on the file, choose Open With,
then select Word from the list of programs.
You should only have to do this once.
