I just got a new laptop and don't know anything about burning CD-ROM. More
specifically, it's a tutorial CD program that acts like a glossary (for
example microsoft encarta). Is this at all possible to copy?
First, do you have a CD Writer/Burner CD Drive?
Merely having a CD Drive isn't adequate. I am presuming that
if your laptop is brand new, it has a burner in it.
However, likely, you did not get burning software WITH the
computer, or it is not the good stuff.
Go online and look at Amazon.com or EBay.com and get at
LEAST Nero 6; be sure you get the key.
Once you have it installed, it will essentially explain
itself.
My recommendation would be that you should go to Geek.com or
some such web page and get a cheap (it can be had for
$15.00) CD burner. (It's good to have 2 CD drives if you're
burning.) Also get a cable that allows you to hook up the
"external" CD burner to your usb port. The same kit comes
with an adapter that allows you to plug the external CD
burner into your power source.
Good luck, and
Happy New Year!
