Hello All,

I just had to reformat my hard drive and did a clean install with
Windows XP, Not wanting to run the risk of this dislocating something
while patting myself on the back, I think I done good, <;o).

The problem is that I can't remember how to set it up where I don't
have to use a password and the password window is bypassed booting
straight to the desktop. That is the way it was set up the four but I
can't remember how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated and I think you ahead of time.

You download and install the TweakUi Power toy from the Microsoft web iste
and in TweakUI find AutoLogon.

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, User Accounts, click your account, click "Change my
password".

or

1. Click "Start", and then click "Run".

2. In the "Open:" box, type "control userpasswords2" (without
the quotes), and then click "OK".

3. In the dialog box that appears, uncheck "Users must enter
a user name and password to use this computer" check box,
and then click "Apply, "OK".

You could also have TweakUI do it for you.

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password
To Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user
name and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you
start your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
