How do I back up my outlook on to a CD then download it to outloo.

I am leaving my job and need to back up the outlook I used for my work email
onto a disk to give my employer before I leave. I am encountering problems
doing this. I have done a back up and an archive, but once it is on the disk
I am unable to then download it on to the computer, so my boss would not be
able to get it downloaded on to his computer.

Any ideas on what is going wrong?
 
Once it is on the disk you would then just copy and paste it from the disk
to the harddrive. Then you would need to right click on it and remove the
Read Only attribute before you could open it with Outlook.
