How do I add or assign a contact to a task as I did in Outlook 2002?

Also, does Office Professional have an Office shortcut bar on the desktop
like Office 2002?

Tools>Options>Contact Options>Show Contact Linking...

No, but with Windows XP or later, it's easy enough to make one. Many of us
just put the shortcuts on the Quick Launch tasktar.
