How do I apply a template to an existing document in Word?

I have a requirements document that exists now, it is mainly a multi-level
bulleted list. I modified the template. I modified the outline, added
levels and footer information. I want to apply the style of the modified
template to the existing requirements documents. Is this possible? If so,
how do I do it? I am using Word 2003.
 
The simplest way is to create new documents based on your updated template
and copy the contents from your old documents to the new ones. Then close
your old documents and save them using the old names.
