How do I answer some of these questions

I would like to be able to help with some of these questions but when I try
I get the message I need simple MAPI compatible mailer. How do I install
this?

When you write "I would like to help with some of these questions",
I assume you mean that you would like to reply to questions
asked in this newsgroup.

If so then you should use Outlook Express. It is a standard
component of Windows XP. If unsure how to configure or
use it, ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup.
 
How about with Windows Live Mail? I don't have it set as default, but I still
want to use it to send replies. I wish there was some option to make it stick
together.

A MAPI mailer is Outlook Express for example

Add new account - NEWS
Server: 'msnews.microsoft.com'
Spoof e-mail address & create any name
Download the list of newsgroups
Type: 'microsoft.public.windows.general' & double-click it in the list
Download the messages, pick a question & click REPLY GROUP, type your
message & click send
