You'd be better off asking your question of the tech support department of
Newzcrawler.

hi graham thanks for the reply,

it asks me to set it up in the preferences, all it requires is

News (NNTP) Server - which you told me is
microsoft.public.word.docmanagement - i put this in but i get error message
11004 (i will have to look this number up)

there is also "port" - what number should i enter here (it already enters
default numbers here)

there is a "Use secure connection (SSL)"

and

logon to server ( user & password boxes)

Help

The server is msnew.microsoft.com
as stated in my earlier post and in the link!
The port will be 119
The connection is not secure
You won't need a logon

That's why I suggested starting with your newsreader's tech support. They'll
be able to tell you what to use.

Look more closely at Graham's response:

Leave the default port number, and do not check the SSL box or the
logon box (this is a public news server, so it doesn't need any logon
information).

After you connect to the news server, then you can set which newsgroup
you want to read.
