How do I add programs to startup list?

Hi! :-)

How do I get any exe I want to automatically run when WinXP starts and how
do I remove it?

Asking because I wanna play a prank on a relative by planting a stand alone
exe on his comp that causes burping sounds to randomly play (said exe has
been scanned with Norton Internet Security set for automatic updates)

Thanx in advance! :-)

Naughty, naughty ... you shouldn't be playing pranks on people's PC's. But
anyway, if you need to legitimately startup anything on Windows Startup, you
need to place the exe or mp3 or whatever in the Programs Startup folder.

- Right click on Start and then Open (for current user) or Open All Users
(for all users)
- double click the Programs folder to open it
- double click the Startup folder to open it
- now anything (even shortcuts) you place in this startup folder will start
at Windows startup for this user or all users depending what you opened from
Start

Note: you will only see Open All Users if you have the authority (ie. you
are an Administrator in Windows XP)

The same way you would run any program at startup. Put it or a shortcut to
it in one of the startup folders.
D:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
