I'm making a simple worksheet, but the names associated with each column are
too long to make just widening the column optional. How can I add angled tabs
to the tops of the columns? (I made a version with shortened proj names, but
it's too inconvenient.)

Format>Cells>Alignment>Orientation

You might want to combine that with...
Format>Cells>Alignment>Text Control>Wrap Text

HTH,

You can angle the text in the column with Format Cells Alignment
Orientation and then just set the angle you would like the text to b

Hi!

Select the cell(s)

Goto Format>Cells>Alignment tab.

In the Orientation "window" you can drag the "dial indicator" to get the
desired angle (or use the spinner button).
