How do I activate Word when internet connection works?

I have been trying to activate my word program, and it says if it does not
work after a mintue to check my internet connection. My internection is fine,
however it still keeps coming up with this message every time I try. Would
there be the possibility that my internet connection is too slow, and if so
how do I then activate it?

Also keep in mind that the public betas of both Office and Vista were
released yesterday, so hundreds of thousands of people are hitting both the
download servers and the activation servers today. It'll probably be very
difficult to connect for the next several days. There's nothing you can do
about it except to retry it at random intervals.
