Did you try View | From ?
Just don't figure you can go lying about your identify by changing the
From header. The Received headers added by your ISP's mail server and
over which you have no control will identify you. Most users realize
that the From header can be easily made bogus and will use the other
headers to track you down.
You could just edit your e-mail account to change the Name field to show
your department name instead of your own name. That would work if you
are using POP3/SMTP servers for e-mail. However, if you are using
Outlook at work then they might be using Exchange. It is probable that
no matter what you enter in the Name field in the e-mail account and no
matter what you put in the From header that the Exchange server will
discard all that and enter the data from your record on the Exchange
server when sending outbound e-mails from that Exchange mailbox. I
doubt your company wants you to identify yourself differently than how
THEY want you to be identified. So you might have to give the Exchange
admin a call to change your personal info reporting on your outbound
e-mails. The From header can be used to select another user but, I
believe, they must have given you permission to be their delegate.
Rather than change the Name reported in an outbound e-mail in the From
header, change the Organization field in the e-mail account's definition
(it's under More Settings -> General). If you are using Exchange, that
information should have already been specified for your record; if not,
contact your Exchange admin.
