By design, Outlook does not display attached images inline. Outlook is a
business application. OE is targeted to consumers and the needs of the two
groups are different in this area. Exchange Administrators consider inline
display a security issue and don't want it.

Outlook only shows images inline with HTML mail items or RTF mail items with
OLE embedded images. Images in plain text mail items only show as
attachments (that you can open or save).

If I may jump in on this, Russ and Tom; along with the attached image or
html, there are almost always two or three attached .txt files of very
small size, say 68 bytes or so. They may have only a ">" character or
contain the following strings:

What are these? Again, please pardon me if you don't think this post
belongs in this thread :)

Hi everybody. I have this same complaint. It is especially annoying after
switching from Outlook Express, which I did after I got my PDA. I found a
work around that may help you. You may have to experiment a little. Highlight
one of the photo links in the email and then select all (Ctrl + A), then open
one of the photos. If they open in Windows Photo and Fax Viewer, you can then
use the back and forward buttons at the bottom of the viewing window, and you
can also use the side buttons on your mouse, if it has them. It works for me.
Good luck! Jimmy.

that should only work if you previously opened the attachments - and they
were left in the securetemp folder.
