I would like to be able to view all the files on my computer at one time
rather than having to look in every folder. I've done it before but I can't
remember how. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure what you're referrring to.... ?

Hi Grace,

Do you have any idea how many files there are on your system? If you click
start/search and type *.*, it will return every file on your system (but
this may take awhile). If you want to see just a particular type, say
pictures, try *.jpg

Search * ????? Not sure that I would want to see
all the files on mine, but that should find them all.

Heeeeyyy!!!!! That's wonderful Nutcase!! There's some I lost months
ago....Thank you for that tip...

Chas.

You will have to set your folder options to show system and hidden files, if
those are the ones you want to show. Also in search you need to check that
box to have them available there.

cmd.exe for DOS portion. Go to C: drive. type dir/s. But they will flash
by so fast you can't read them. I have over half a million files on my C:
drive. You can type dir/s|more That will give you the first page and you
can hit enter for one file at a time movement or hold the enter key down to
scroll.

Or you can use dir/s/p which will open a page of files and Pause until you
hit a key then give you the next page of files.
Try typing dir/? at the DOS prompt.
