How can I use conditional formating in dropdown using named list?

I have a dropdown list that refers to column in another worksheet. I would
like the dropdown to display the text in the same formats as in the original
list. eg. Text in red displays red in the dropdown.
I'm using Excel 2003.
 
Excel's data|validation, comboboxes, and dropdowns don't support this kind of
formatting.
