How can I undo the default action for my printer?

Before I started messing with it, I could press "black" (no color)
button on my printer and it would open a window of options. One was
to load the software that came with the printer, but there were a
couple of others.

I accidentally set the default action to another selection. Now when
I press the button nothing happens. How can I set it back to
prompting me again?

This is a hardware issue. Check the documentation that came with the
printer or check the printer manufacturer's web set and tech support. You
could also post to the printer newsgroup and give more info such as what
model of printer.

Windowsxp Print and Fax newsgroup on the web:

I guess I did not explain clearly enough.

Pressing the "black" button on my printer opens a page on the computer
that is similar to the page you get when you put in a cd.

This page gave me a list of programs on my computer to load the
scanned image into.

This is a software setting somewhere. I would like to be able to
change it back to prompting me for an action each time.

If you can't figure out what the printer/scanner software set up to
cause the activation, uninstall and then reinstall the hardware and
software to put it back to the default arrangement.

This is still a printer specific issue, whether it's hardware or software.
I think your best bet is to contact the tech support for the printer and
post to the printer newsgroup.
