I'm realatively new to XP. I'm using home edition and would like to know if service pack1a is already installed on my machine. Any thoughts on how to check that

Right click 'My Computer', choose 'Properties'. Under the 'General' tab,
there will be a display with 'System:'. If XP SP1 is installed, it will look
something like this;

System:
Microsoft WIndows XP
Professional or Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1
