There is a trick to shrinking C:. Turn off Virtual Memory (start orb,
type
sysdm.cpl, ok, Advanced tab, Performance area settings button, Advanced
tab,
change button, disable VM) Now restart and run the Disk Defragmenter
(system
tools), then diskmgmt.msc to shrink C:, and enlarge E:

Thanks for the reply Mark, But the most it will allow me to enlarge E
is
to
97GB for XP while C has 190GB for Vista & I would much prefer to have
the
larger capacity for XP.

If you shrink C with DiskMgmt.msc, you can put XP on an enlarged E:,
and
boot to it automatically if you like, but changing the drive letter of
an
existing install of Vista is not going to work.

Hi, until I feel more comfortable with Vista I'd like to move it to
a
smaller
portion of my HDD[E] so I can install XP on the larger portion[C].
Any
help
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
