How can I set the "Selection Color"?

When an item in my combo boxes is selected,
it has a black background. But Windows is set up
for a gray background. Access2000 itself uses gray
for the selected item in pulldown menus, etc.
Why does my application not use the gray,
and how can I change it?

Are you talking about the background on a combo box? If so go to the
properties of that combox go to back color and select your color. Also,
check to see what tools/options/datasheet colors are selected.

I missed informed you about the second part sorry about that. If all of your
forms are having this problem then do the following. Open a form in design
view, then click on the autoformat button on your toolbar. From there you
can change your defaults. If you have the type of form set-up the with the
colors and such you should be able to save the format to be used throughout.

The colors that are used for the selected item in a list box
or a droped down combo box are some kind of funky function
of the foreground and background colors (sort of the
complement of the RGB values). They have nothing to do with
the Windows color settings. Using fore and back colors of
Black and White provides an obvious and simple highlighting.
If you should choose to use a bizarre fore and back color
combination, you can make the selected item display in
totally unreadable colors.

No. Not the background color.
The "highlighted color scheme" of the selected item.
I have not seen it listed as a property or option anywhere.
In this thread, Marshall Barton indicates it is a set function. Too bad if
it can't be changed, because it is Ugly compared
to the nice black on gray available in Access menus.
