How can I separate two POP email accounts from the 'Personal Folders'?

I currently have a gmail account and my buffalo.edu account in the same
personal folder. How can I separate them?

Set up another folder to use for whichever account you don't want in Inbox,
and use rules to move mail sent to the other address to that folder.
 
Depending on your Outlook version, which you neglected to mention, you can
probably use a rule to put them in different folders or assign them
different categories.
 
Dear Stefan,

create 2 subfolders (click on your "Inbox", right mouseclick "New Folder")
with the name:

"Inbox gmail account" and
"Inbox buffalo.edu account"

than you can create 2 rules (Tools/Rules Assistant) like:

For incoming emails from "gmail" move this emails into the folder "Inbox
gmail account".

Of course select the other folder for the other email account.
