how can I see updated field values in a footer in realtime?

I have defined a field in my document (Text1) and embedded it as a
calculation in my footer. Is there a way I can see the updated value in the
footer without having to print preview or print the doc? I'd like for the
value in the footer to change after I change the value in the source field
(recalc the footer after field change)

Suggestions?

Thanks

There's probably no really good way to get this done dynamically, even with
the help of a macro. Unless you're using FORM fields? The problem is finding a
way to trigger the macro; there is no event that fires when a field updates...
